  2. 2. Open Module file and publish library in the Asset panel.
  3. 3. Open a project and enable Module in the Asset panel.

If you use Figma Free plan you can't publish the whole design system, only styles. But you're also can work inside Module file.

To apply styles of texts, colors, and effects – select the layer and choose styles in the right sidebar.

To apply a grid – select the frame and choose a grid in the right sidebar.

Customize components

Before customizing you should understand the formation. Module based on the Atomic methodology. Any component is a combination of puzzles named Atoms. We blend atoms to create many variants of components.

Such approach allows to create a scalable design system with easy support and customization. You can edit atom one time and changes will apply to all component variants.

Go to page Components in Module. Zoom into any frame. You can see component atoms on the left and component variants on the right. Atoms hierarchically placed from the bottom to the top.

Each atom has a hint above it. Try to edit any atom and see changes on the right to understand how it works.

After editing, you have to publish changes to apply them to projects designed with Module.
